Please help! I jsut bought OD today, and WB isn't working correctly. I uninstalled all my freeware (including Alien GUIse) just to make sure nothing was interferring. I even turned off Windows Live OneCre to make sure the file came through with no problem. I dl'd from Stardock Central, and rebooted my computer after the install. I've tried 3 times now and get the same result. When I try to change the skins, XP reverts to Windows Classics (ugly!) and WB freezes. Here's my System info:

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 6.01 (build 40 x86)

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
Your machine supports per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

Killajosh did you just delete the freeware version stuff? That could have been causing the problem.
on Nov 21, 2007

Remeber everyone, Stand-alone and SDC (and Trial) all have differing file dates.

Who knows what's gotten screwed up and scrambled.

If you have WB running, set it to classic.
Reboot
Uninstall via sdc
Delete the WB folder
Reboot
Make sure you are still in classic
Install via SDC
reboot
Post your sys info.

You know when we figure it out it will be something simple.

So here it is, still the same....except now I can't activate it because it said I've tried to activate it too many times.

Josh is NOT a happy camper at this moment.....at all.

open taskmanager

see if it's there running or if you have Screen.exe(s) running

now I can't activate it because it said I've tried to activate it too many times.

that will have to be reset by Stardock

may take a while if you put in a ticket

can also try a Stardock Support post - make sure something like = Max Activations Reached - help

is in the title

Bichur, as far as I can tell, the only WB process running at this moment is WBINST~1.EXE. WB is probably trying to figure out why I've installed and deleted it about 100000000000000000000 times today.

might want to try IRC but with the holiday you may have to wait

you should contact stardock support by sending a mail to support@stardock.com and referring with a link to this post (Really)
Give them all the informations you can and what you've made exactly

I'm having this exact same trouble and opened a ticket last week. I have no solution as yet, even with many replies from Stardock, wanting my sys info. They said click the copy text button. I don't HAVE a copy text button on that screen. And it won't let me hightlight it to copy/paste, either!
An interesting note on my situation is, I had WB5 as a stand alone before I decided to "upgrade" to Object Desktop. I installed WB5 again and it works!
BTW, I have Vista...........
